How do I get over a broken heart?

My relationship is going down the tubes... I know its over ... but I just keep holding on... this is hard? How do I let go and find contentment being alone.... I have no friends anymore because I spent all my time with him... and he is treating me like a butt hole... and doesn't want to hang out wih me either... I feel alone?
