How do these verses speak to us as believers, in 1 Tim 6: 6-8?

If we keep our eyes on the Lord, we won't want to spend a lot on ourselves I think. At least I don't really although my grocery bills are high but I buy a lot of health food & pills like Co Q10, Grape Extract, garlic pills, Vitamins, etc.
